Women in Combat and Mentoring Them had the pleasure of discussing issues concerning women in combat with host Dale Throneberry on Veterans Radio, along with guests Carey Lohrenz, one of the first female Navy F-14 pilots, West Point graduate Lt. Col. Allana Bryant, and Persian Gulf veteran Col. Christine Cook. Near the beginning of the program I discussed the integration of women into the Air Force Academy; we discussed the importance of women being qualified for promotion in the military; and Lt. Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger. Near the end (try minute 48 and on) we discuss differing reactions among women to deploying in combat and the importance of mentorship. See my sidebar links for mentorship available to women military pilots.
